UGC Regulations about Anti-Ragging

ANTI RAGGING UNDERTAKING BY STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Any kind of abuse, humiliation, or harassment of new entrants or junior students by the senior students comes under ragging. In its severe form a new entrant faces physical or psychological torture. In 2009, the University Grants Commission of India imposed regulations upon Indian universities to help curb ragging and launched a toll-free 'anti-ragging helpline'. The colleges are given strict guidelines to constitute such committees and cells against this offence. Under UGC guidelines GC Anni has also constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee and an Anti-Ragging Squad. The students are made to fill a Declaration Form or affidavit at the time of Admission.
